Harry Shenk joined Hope Journey Guide (HJG) in the summer of 2024 as the first person to become an official mentor under the HJG umbrella
Harry grew up in Lancaster, PA but now counts himself a happy Kansan, raising his family on his wife Edith’s home farm outside of Partridge. Harry is 63 years old, he and Edith have been married for 39 years, and their ten children range in age from 38 to 21. Five are married and five are single. He is a member of the Center Amish Mennonite Church.
After completing a secondary education degree, Harry taught for eighteen years in church schools, two years in Pennsylvania and sixteen in Kansas. His teaching ended when his sexual sin came to light in 2005. Harry was separated from his family for a year and a half, fourteen months of which was spent at Shepherd’s Fold in Lebanon, PA.
God is a God of redemption and He has been gracious in restoring the years that the locusts have eaten. Harry rejoices in redeemed and restored relationships, though some are still in need of God’s healing touch. Harry longs to see people walking in freedom and is glad for the opportunity that Hope Journey Guide gives him to walk with men toward that end.
