HOST AN EVENT

Host a Mentoring Foundations Event in Your Community

We have discovered that the Mentoring Foundations in-person events are powerful and life-changing for participants. We are eager to partner with local leaders to bring these events to areas with a significant concentration of diverse Conservative Anabaptist communities.

What is a Mentoring Foundations Event?

A Mentoring Foundations event is typically a two-part experience designed to equip your community:

  • Friday Evening: A public-facing session, open to all, that introduces the core concepts of hope and healing.

  • Saturday (All Day): An in-depth workshop for registered men, focused on providing the tools and understanding to help other men walk in freedom from sexual sins.

How to Host an Event: An Initial Checklist

Would you be interested in hosting an event? Here is an initial checklist of the process, which is done in coordination with Hope Journey Guide (HJG).

  1. Start with a Vision

It begins with a visionary person (or group) who believes that there are other men in his community that would welcome learning more about this topic.

  2. Make the Initial Contact

Contact HJG by email. In response, we will send you a written guide that details potential committee responsibilities and the costs associated with hosting an event.

  3. Form a Local Committee

Your next step is to find persons from diverse area churches who share this vision and are willing to form a committee to oversee the event.

  4. Plan the Event (Committee Decisions)

Your local committee, in coordination with HJG, will then make the key decisions for a successful event:

    • Date: Choose a date that works for your community.
    • Church Approval: Secure any necessary approvals from local church leadership, if applicable.
    • Venue: Select a venue that the potential participants will feel comfortable with.
    • Saturday Noon Meal: Arrange for the meal. This could be a carry-in meal, or you could plan to pay local ladies or a caterer to prepare it.
    • Financials: Decide on the financial arrangement. There are two common options, each with different considerations:
      • Free-Will Offering: This model relies on the local community's generosity to ensure costs are covered.
      • Paid Registration: This model provides our ministry with advance assurance of participation to cover travel, wages, and lodging expenses.

Our Commitment to You

No matter which financial model you choose, Hope Journey Guide Mentoring will gladly take care of all registration logistics. This relieves some of the organizational pressure for the committee and helps us know how many workbooks and other materials we will need to bring.
